9 year old pregnant
This young girl from Idaho got pregnant at the age of 9 and gave birth to a baby at the age of 10 last year. The father of her child was apparently her mother’s boyfriend. This video illustrates the general lack of understanding surrounding childhood sexuality. The reporters here are saying it’s abnormal for a 9 year old girl to be able to get pregnant. However, they apparently did not consult even a medical encyclopedia to see how close they were. One of them even says “For the most part, girls haven’t hit puberty until they’re about 14 years old.” In most populations the average age of puberty in girls is 10. This means that nearly half of all girls are entering puberty before age 10. Boys too (such as myself) are entering puberty at younger ages, averaging 12. For me, puberty began at age 10, 2 years before the average age for boys. When we tell kids that it is abnormal for them to be hitting puberty at this age, we are condemning them for something they can’t help, and something which is a part of normal human biology. This is not good! A major concern about earlier puberty is earlier interest in sex, with girls getting pregnant at younger ages and boys becoming fathers before they have any concept of responsibility, as well as the problems of disease and abortion, both of which scar people for life and destroy life. All of these problems are exacerbated by people’s ignorance and denial of the facts.

If it’s too dangerous for her to give birth she can have a cesarian section. This is standard procedure for many dangerous pregnancies, and is routine and safe. Do you think the life of her baby means nothing whatsoever?

@DVDluvr123 It’s dangerous. Young girls can have an underdeveloped pelvis which can lead to difficulties/death in childbirth. Not to mention the long term mental health problems she might suffer due to the impact of giving birth on a 9-year-old psyche. She’s still growing, too, and pregnancy would take resources her body needs during a critical period in her own development.
But yeah, baby murder, herdy derp derp wharrgarbl and all that.

I got my first period when I was nine, and so did my mom. We just thought it was normal. I didn’t think anything of it until my health class. But, I’ve never had sex and was never abused so, yeah…Either way, that scumbag should be shot! She was 9! I know freinds of mine who are in their late teens and can’t handle pregnancy. so how can a 9 year old?

Honesly, I am twelve and have not gotten my period. It’s all about how much you weigh. You must be AT LEAST 95 pounds to get your period, because that way u can take care of the baby (if u choose to have one) because I am only 60 pounds (very fast metobilism.) I may not get my period until the age of fifteen or even sixteen
So it is not abnormal, it’s just how much u weigh
